Cake Decorator

Queen of Cakes in Edina is looking for an experienced Cake Decorator to join our team! We are a well-known bakery located in Edina, MN, renowned for our delicious cakes. Queen of Cakes specializes in custom decorated cakes for all occasions. Each and every cake we create is special and unique, made to order for any special occasion. As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for helping us fulfill that promise by creating custom cakes to our customers’ specifications, designing attractive and creative cake displays, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and decorate custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions

  2. Follow specific recipes and instructions to create desired flavors and textures

  3. Create attractive displays of cakes in store cases

  4. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and providing suggestions to customers

  5. Ensure the bakery is clean and well-stocked with supplies

  6. Manage inventory of ingredients, track orders, and restock shelves as needed

Requirements:

  1. Experience as a cake decorator required - grocery store experience is ok. 

  2. Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and recipes

  3. Excellent attention to detail

  4. Ability to work quickly while maintaining high standards of quality

  5. Knowledge of cake decoration techniques such as fondant work, buttercream icing, chocolate work etc

  6. Great customer service skills

  7. Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  8. Ability to create unique designs from customer instructions

  9. Artistic background is preferred. 

Pay:

  • Hourly rate available upon request

Schedule: 

  • Part-time hours to start but full-time hours can be considered

  • Saturdays are required with Sundays and Mondays off

Cake Baker

As a Cake Baker, you will be responsible for helping us fulfill that promise by baking cakes for all occasions, from birthdays to weddings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare ingredients needed for the day's baking

  2. Bake cakes according to recipes and customer requests

  3. Make Icing for the Cakes including Buttercream, Chocolate Buttercream, Whipped Topping, Cream Cheese, and Chocolate Ganache

  4. Create beautiful cake designs in a variety of shapes and sizes

  5. Monitor inventory of ingredients needed for baking

  6. Maintain cleanliness of the work area throughout the shift

  7. Follow health and safety guidelines

Requirements: 

  1. Must know basic math skills 

  2. Able to lift up to 50 lbs

  3. Proven experience as a Cake Baker or similar role

  4. Knowledge of baking techniques and decorating skills

  5. Excellent attention to detail

  6. Must be a self-starter

  7. Ability to follow recipes accurately

  8. Strong organizational and time management skills

Shift: 

  • Flexible days between Sundays and Thursdays 

  • Hours available upon request

Pay: 

  • Hourly rate available upon request
